The Director-General of the  King Fahad Causeway Authority (KFCA), Eng. Emad Al-Muhaisen, conveyed his gratitude to HM King Hamad Al-Khalifa on the occasion of the Royal Decree issued to develop the King Fahd Causeway in cooperation with Saudi Arabia. 

 

"Since the beginning of the year 2019, King Fahd Causeway has reached a record number of travelers On Saturday, 6 April 2019, being the highest number of travelers since the opening of the causeway with 119,320 passengers, the highest number of travelers to Saudi Arabia ever with 77,003 passengers, the highest number of passengers for two consecutive days with 228,421 passengers on Friday and Saturday, 5-6 April 2019, and the second highest number of passengers for Bahrain since ever with 59,690 passengers on Friday, 5 April 2019 according to statistics of King Fahd Passport Controls, the Saudi side.

 

He added that "the indicators showed for the first quarter of this year an increase of more than 6% in the number of passengers for the same period last year, an extension of the annual increases in the escalator where the daily average of passengers for this year about 80 thousand passengers a day, the highest since the opening of the causeway in 1986" .
