The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) managed to attract more than 10,000 Russian tourists through the charter program operated by the world's leading travel and tourism company Coral Travel as part of the Authority's efforts to attract new markets to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

 

The first charter flights were launched by the company from Moscow to the Kingdom at the end of October 2018, with two weekly flights.

 

HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, presented the results of the program, which included a total number of 10,075 Russian tourists over the past six months. The tourist occupancy rate was 9 nights, resulting in an increase in the hotel occupancy rate in Bahrain. The total number of tourist nights was 34,578 nights, while the total spending of tourists arriving through the program was BD 7,217,730.

 

He added, “Each flight includes 220 passengers which occupy 30 hotels across the Kingdom to enhance the tourism sector's contribution to the country's GDP”.

 

This comes within the efforts of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) under the economic vision of 2030 by developing its promotional plans and attracting new markets that will contribute to the sustainability of the tourism sector as a major source of the Kingdom's economy and diversification of national income sources.
