Labour and Social Development Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, has lauded His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s support for the development projects implemented by the Labour and Social Development Ministry to enhance social protection and improve the citiizens’ standards of living.

Humaidan said that the Labour and Social Development Ministry had followed up on the progress of the projects ordered by HRH Premier during this week’s regular Cabinet session in A’ali, Isa Town, Hamad Town, Budaiya and Jidhafs.

During Monday’s session, the Cabinet reviewed efforts to improve the quality of social services and social empowerment, create an environment that meets the requirements of sustainable development and achieve the objectives and priorities of the Government Action Plan, through the establishment of five community centres, worth BD 24 million, to serve the elderly, people with disabilities, as well as low-income ndividuals and families.

The projects include the Budaiya Comprehensive Community Centre, the parent daycare club, to be annexed to the Jidhafs Community Centre, a disability complex in A’ali, a social services complex in Isa Town and a social care complex in Hamad Town,

These projects, and the existing social centres, which will ensure the provision of integrated social services in the kingdom.
