Scores of people from the Pakistan community attended a flag hoisting ceremony that was held at the Pakistan Embassy today morning. This year, the Pakistan community all over the globe have dedicated its independence day to Kashmir. Pakistani Ambassador Afzaal Mahmood hoisted the flag and conveyed conveys his heartfelt greetings to the community.
People from the Pakistani community in Bahrain are planning to spend their day wearing flag colours, green and white and participate in community events celebrating their nation's birthday.
While addressing the ceremony in Islamabad, President Arif Alvi said that today the world was watching how the people of Pakistan were standing with their Kashmiri brothers.
“We will never leave our Kashmiri brothers alone whatever the circumstances," he said. "Kashmiri [people] are our [people] and we are [the] Kashmiris'. We think of their pain as our pain." He went on to say that Pakistan has remained with them and will continue to do so.
According to local reports, the government has said that Independence Day will be celebrated as Kashmir Solidarity Day to express full support for the people of Kashmir. Protest rallies will be held across the country and seminars are being organized to highlight the plight of oppressed people in Indian-Administered Kashmir.
The government of Pakistan has revealed a special logo for Independence Day which reflects its theme of 'Kashmir Banega Pakistan'.
Tech giant Google also marked Pakistan’s independence day by dedicating a doodle on its homepage.
According to International news, this is not the first time that the search engine has featured a doodle for any Pakistani event. Google has also celebrated the birthdays of legendary musician Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi,Shehenshah-e Ghazl Mehdi Hassan and Pakistan’s most prominent and prolific artist Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi with doodle on his birthday.
