The dead whale spotted yesterday northwest of Bahrain’s territorial waters was pulled out, announced the Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE).

Officials at the SCE said that the process of pulling out the 16-meter-long whale, which was spotted by fishermen in a marine area known as Khor Fasht or Fasht Marwah, was successfully completed by a joint team from SCE and the Coast Guard Command.

They added that the was towed for about 6 kilometers long to the nearest sea shore which was in Salman City. They assured that the SCE will study the type of the dead whale and investigate causes of its death.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Interior announced that a dead whale was spotted yesterday through its official social media accounts.

A Bahraini fisherman, Hassan Salman, is apparently said to be the first to see the dead whale and post a video on his personal social media accounts.
