With splashes of colours on a canvas, scores of artists have showcased their work at an art exhibition in Bahrain. The exhibit, called “MaArt’e” is held under the patronage of Sheikh Hassan Bin Rashid Al Khalifa. Organized by FCB with the help of Filipino Club Bahrain, Filipino artists based in Bahrain have on display their masterpieces this month.
Colours of green, yellow and black showcased a deeper meaning as an artist depicted his painting of a father protecting his daughter from a fire. The painting entitled ‘The Hero’ depicted that every hero can be found inside our home, closer to our heart and runs through our blood. The painting depicted the freedom as a child but toughness as a father. The artists displayed an acrylic on canvas painting emphasizing that fathers are our everyday heroes.
The exhibition was opened yesterday during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and will be open until the 25th of September from 10 am to 10 pm at the activity centre, Oasis Mall in Juffair. It is an all-Filipino visual arts display that will feature professional and emerging artists from Filipino Creatives Bahrain (FCB)—a Pinoy community of artists in the kingdom.
The exhibit is supported by the Philippine Embassy in Bahrain and invites all Filipinos to visit the exhibition, as it is free and open to the public. In addition to this, several free workshops will be conducted at the mall’s food court.
The basic portraiture workshop will be held tomorrow by Carlo Rico which the artists using pen and maker workshop will be held on 14th by Sherrizah Dagalea. The basic landscape painting workshop will be held on 20th by Ren Niro which is followed by a basic photography and videography workshop by Jed and Ghervann. Participants are requested to bring their own materials for the workshops.
“All artworks on display are done by our Filipino artists, so let us come and support them. The art exhibition is really awesome so encouraging everyone to come down” stated the organizers.
