A fire that broke out at the former Qatari Embassy was controlled, the Ministry of Interior today announced on its official social accounts. Preliminary information indicates that there were no injuries recorded as it was a limited fire in the server room.

Not much of information was revealed by the General Directorate of Civil Defense officially, but it stated that it managed to control a limited fire at the Qatari Embassy in the Seef District.

The Director explained that its operating room received a report at 3:26 pm today afternoon reporting smoke from inside the former Qatari embassy building in Seef district. The civil defense vehicles, they stated,  immediately were present at the site and managed to control the fire.

About the cause of the fire, they noted, was the high temperature in the server room. They assured that the lack of air conditioning in the room led to a limited fire in one of the devices.

The Ministry of the Interior assured that everything was under control and the necessary official procedures were taken by concerned authorities.
