Ship traffic raised by 47.6% as it reached 31 ships in the second quarter of 2019, showed statistics issued by the Transportation and Telecommunication Ministry.

Statistics calculated the percentage referring to the number of ships in the same period last year. It stated that the number reached 21 ships in the second quarter of 2018.

Statistics revealed that the general cargo of Khalifa bin Salman Port increased to 212,187 in the second quarter of this year compared to 145,017 in the second quarter of last year. While general cargo ships decreased by 37.4% in the second quarter of 2019 to 114. It was 182 in the second quarter of 2018.

Statistics stated that the vehicle cargo ships at the port increased to 10,444 in the second quarter of 2019 compared to 10,300 in the second quarter of 2018.

The total number of vessels at Khalifa Bin Salman Port recorded a slight decrease of 23.5% (212) compared to 277 in the second quarter of 2019 and 2018.
