As part of the plan to modernize and renovate the technical inspection service centers of the General directorate of traffic for vehicles in various governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain, National Motor Company in cooperation with the General Directorate of Traffic inaugurated the first certified technical inspection center for light vehicles outside the General Directorate of Traffic, on Saturday 21 September 2019, at National Motor Company Car service center in Sitra.

The government is keen in its strategy to deploy service centers in all regions of the Kingdom in order to reduce the waiting time for customers and owners of light vehicles and drivers and to facilitate the process of technical inspection service with ease.

The center includes two lanes for the annual inspection of vehicles and can accommodate about 500 vehicles per day as it will be carried out by experienced examiners as per the requirements of the technical inspection section at the General Directorate of Traffic with a cost of BD 10 excluding VAT per vehicle.

The annual inspection procedures for light vehicles will include bringing the vehicle for technical inspection, along with the original certificate of ownership and inspection, and the vehicle will be inspected for compliance with the conditions of durability and safety stipulated in the Traffic Law No. 9 of 1979, and to the standards agreed among the GCC countries.

Working hours at Sitra Technical Inspection Center from Saturday to Thursday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
