The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has confirmed the implementation of the second phase of Land reclamation for the fourth causeway project, as part of a package that includes the necessary Land reclamation works for the extension road from Diyar Al-Muharraq towards Saya and Busaiteen area to the Bahrain Bay to connect with North Manama causeway.

Ministry added that the cost of this package is about 30 million dinars, and takes a period of 12 months from the date of commencement, and will be implemented by Al Rasheed International Company where this package comes to complement the intended Muharraq Ring Road, as it starts from the intersection of Muharraq Ring Road from Samaheej - Diyar Al Muharraq through Dair, Busaiteen and Saya district to the Bahrain Bay Area north of Manama, preceding Phase II of Manama North Bridge which starts from this intersection to the waterfront area in Seef area, which will connect to Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman at Al-Farooq intersection.

The project is considered a qualitative leap in reducing traffic congestion north of Muharraq Island, and the budget allocated for the project is BD 94 million, provided under a generous aid from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

It will be consisted of five traffic lanes in each direction, one extends east from Saya to Diyar Al Muharraq, and the other west linking Bahrain Harbor to the waterfront of Seef area.
