Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, received the UK Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief, Rehman Chishti.

Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, the Deputy Chairperson of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, Betsy Mathieson and the British Ambassador to Bahrain, Roderick Drummond, attended the meeting.

The minister expressed Bahrain’s pride in the close historical relations with the UK and its keenness to develop these relations for the benefit of both countries, noting the UK’s determined efforts in promoting tolerance and coexistence among different peoples, wishing Chishti further success.

Chishti stressed the UK’s interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation with Bahrain at all levels.

He also hailed Bahrain’s important initiatives in promoting coexistence between different cultures and religions, most importantly the establishment of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, and other initiatives that reflects the Kingdom’s contributions in consolidating pluralism, dialogue and coexistence for the benefit of all, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
