The Ministry of Public Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has completed the project of establishing “Rain Water Catchment System” harvesting Rain Water in tanks in Hamad Town area, Block 1216.

The assistant undersecretary for Sewage network at the ministry, Eng. Asma Jassim Murad, stated that the project includes the construction of two reservoirs to harvest any emerging water which could excess from the E4 pumping station located in Hamad Town (roundabout 22) through a 106-meter-long pipe.

Pointing out that this aims to harvest the excess emerging sewage water in these reservoirs until the station restores the operation again preventing the area from flooding during the emergency season.

She also confirmed the ministry's keenness to follow up all these projects, including sewage projects to meet the needs of operating the system facilities towards providing sound operational services in line with Bahrain's strategic vision in the sustainability of its services to citizens and residents in various areas in the Kingdom.

The project was assigned by the Tender Board to Al-Dour Contracting Company for Excavation and Construction at a cost of 157,317 Bahraini Dinars.

The Ministry thanked the residents of the for their cooperation and compliance with the warning signs during the implementation of the project.
