More than 600 workers participated in an Autumn fest organized by a prominent community organization in Bahrain. The ‘ICRF Workers’ Day – Autumn Fest’ was hosted by The Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) yesterday at the Indian School Bahrain. This was the second of a series of quarterly events lined up such as summer fest, autumn fest, winter fest and spring fest.

This event was organized as part of ICRF’s commitment to celebrating low-income workers with a program to create an atmosphere of celebration and enjoyment. Improving workers’ morale and creating awareness on support systems available by the community for them is one of the objectives of this program stressed ICRF.

The event also saw the presence of surprise guest, CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) of Bahrain, Ausamah bin Abdullah Al Absi.

“I am very happy to be here and see that ICRF has created an environment for the labourers to enjoy games and fun activities. The LMRA is committed to providing services to ensure the welfare of expat workers in Bahrain and we are ready to support the Workers’ Day programs of ICRF.” said Al Absi.

The event was also attended by Head of Expat Protection at LMRA Shereen Khalil Al Saati and Second Secretary of the Indian Embassy PK Chowdhury and Anish Sreedharan, Murali Krishna, Javad Pasha and Sreedhar S. Representatives from ICICI bank and VIVA.

The program kick-started with the lighting of the lamp by the workers who were celebrating their birthday during this month, followed by cake-cutting.

Many games and sports programs including Tug of War, Running Race, Sack Race, Three-legged Jumping, Karaoke Singing, Cinematic Dance etc. were part of the celebrations. Winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were provided with prizes for all competitions. Spot quiz competitions and prizes were also part of the program. Additionally, all participants were given a gift hamper. Mobile phones were given as first prizes for games by ICICI Bank. First prize winner of raffle draw received 32 inches Smart TV.

Master of ceremony Ameesha handled the crowd skillfully through the announcements and spot quiz programs. The evening filled with celebratory activities concluded with dinner as well.
