Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak received the International Peace Institute (IPI) President Terje Roed-Larson.

The minister praised the efforts of the International Peace Institute and its diplomatic activities in promoting a culture of peace in the region.

During the meeting, Roed-Larson was briefed on national efforts to sustain the availability of electricity and satisfy the needs of the urban population and economic growth in line with Bahrain 2030 Economic Vision.

The meeting reviewed the efforts of the Electricity and Water Authority  (EWA) in providing water to the community and preservation of groundwater in addition to drafting the national water strategy implemented under the supervision of the Water Resources Council.

The minister praised the role of the Institute in providing research and studies aimed at promoting international peace and stressed the importance of the vital role it plays in promoting and developing a culture of peace.

The meeting discussed ways of transferring knowledge, exchanging expertise and capacity building especially in light of the Institute's network of experts and specialists in the fields of electric power and water.
