His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received today Chechen President Ramzan Akhmadovich Kadyrov on the occasion of his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. He thanked him for the visit to attend Bahrain International Defence Exhibition and Conference (BIDEC 2019), lauding growing relations between both countries mainly in the cultural and economic fields.

HM the King and the Chechen President expressed appreciation of bilateral cooperation and coordination, stressing keenness to further cement ties to serve common interests and achieve the aspirations of both countries and peoples.

HM the King congratulated the Chechen President on the inauguration of the mosque, in Shali, which is named after Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). Considered the biggest in Europe, the mosque stands as an architectural masterpiece and a civilisational landmark that reflects the Islamic values of tolerance and moderation. HM the King praised the tireless efforts of the Chechen President to broaden the scope of cooperation with Muslim countries. He also discussed with him issues of common interest as well as regional and international developments.

The Chechen President expressed thanks and respect to HM the King for the gracious welcome and hospitality, commending his efforts to further promote relations of friendship and cooperation between both countries.
