The quarterly report that monitors the performance of e-government channels revealed a growth in the value of electronic financial payment transactions through various channels by 29% during the third quarter of this year, compared to the same quarter last year. It reached more than 46 million dinars completed transactions in the period from June to September 2019, an increase in the number of financial transactions by 24%, or more than 445 thousand transactions.

The report said that the national portal Bahrain.bh, the main channel of e-government, during this period, recorded a significant growth in the utilization rates with 42%, where the number of visits to the portal exceeded two million visits, and achieved a growth in financial payments by 25%, amounting to over BD39 million, while completed transactions increased by 18% compared to the same period last year.

The report revealed a remarkable development in the demand for a range of services, most notably the service of the notifications of the national System of Government, which recorded more than 19 thousand visits, an increase of nearly to four times, and the service (application for a government job), which recorded nearly 37 thousand visits, an increase of nearly twice.

This is in addition to the new services that were introduced in the third quarter of the year such as the purchase of textbooks for students of the University of Bahrain, which achieved more than 28 thousand visits, and the service (issuance of credit report), which exceeded 5,500 visits.

The report pointed out that compared to the previous quarter of this year, the service (the private notary) increased by nearly ten times, financial transactions for the service (issuance of traffic certificates) by two times, as well as (ID card issuance) service witnessed a significant increase in the number of financial payments through the portal by 59%.
