Two lives were taken away in 5 hours in separate traffic accidents late night yesterday (Friday). It was noticeable that high speed was the main reason for the two accidents as vehicles in both accidents were of luxurious type. The first occurred on King Hamad Street and the other was on King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein Street.

The first traffic accident occurred in the early hours of Friday’s dawn, and the decedent was a citizen traveling on King Hamad Street towards to Durrat Al-Bahrain residential project. According to preliminary details, the 50-year-old Bahraini driver lost control of the steering wheel, crashed into the iron barrier several times before his vehicle flipped over. Information indicated that the efforts of the medical staff did not succeed in saving his life after suffering severe injuries.

As for the other accident, it occurred in Seef District on King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein Street, and the decedent was a 41-year-old GCC national.

Details of the accident stated that the decedent, who was driving a sports car on King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein Street, pumped into a palm tree after losing control of the vehicle. The accident, official reports stated,  was a result of lack of care and attention, and driving at a crazy speed. Reports added that the decedent hit two palm trees in different locations causing his vehicle to spin and deteriorate and the driver died on the spot.

The Ministry of the Interior announced both accidents on its official social accounts. It added that the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with the General Directorate of Traffic stated that they initiated an investigation into the accident to figure out the circumstances of the incident. The ministry urged all drivers as well as pedestrians to take maximum safety procedures.
