Bahrain and Iraq drew 2-2 in Group A in the AFC U-23 Asian Champion, being held in Bangkok, Thailand until the 28th of January.
Sayyed Hashim and Mohammed Marhoon scored the two goals for Bahrain 44’ and 86’ into the match which was played at the Thammasat Stadium.
Iraq managed to equalise twice through Amir Al-Ammari and Mohammed Qasem 65” and 90+2”.
The coach Samir Chammam fielded the following line-up: Ammar Mohammed (Goalkeeper), Salim Adel, Hamad Shamsan, Sayyed Mohammed Amin, Hassan Al-Karrani, Jassim Khaleef, Abdulrahman Al-Ahmadi, Ahmed Saleh, Mohammed Marhoon, Abbas Al-Asfoor and Sayyed Hashim Isa.
Bahrain will take on Australia on Tuesday (January 14), left with no other option but to win and compete on a berth in the quarterfinals.
