“The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) is following up on the death of an Asian incident after a private hospital refused to admit him,” stated NHRA CEO, Dr. Maryam Al-Jalahmah, to various press, media, and social media accounts.
She noted that NHRA followed with great interest what was published in the press regarding the incident. Dr. Al-Jalahmah said that NHRA confirmed that it will investigate the incident and, if it is proven true, the authority will take measures in accordance with the law and regulations, both regarding the medical institution and the offending staff.
It is noteworthy that the story went viral and received massive angry comments on the various press, media, and social media accounts.
The incident indicates that an Asian passed away after a private hospital refused to admit him nor to provide simple treatment. The story, from the comments, turned out that the Asian who is in his forties suffered a sudden pain in the chest. The pain, comments added, compounded as many private hospitals refused to treat him nor to admit him. Comments of a relative of the decedent confirmed that the hospital’s staff asked them to transfer the decedent to the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) hospital or to the Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC). The relative added that they rushed to take the decedent to the SMC and tried to revive him after his condition deteriorated on the way, but he passed away.
