Security 1, a division of Ebrahim K. Kanoo, hosted a seminar titled “Disruptive Technologies Integrating Physical Security and ELV Systems” at the Gulf Convention Centre in the Gulf Hotel.

Disruptive technology significantly alters the way consumers, industries, or businesses currently operate, displacing systems or habits with superior value innovations.

Ebrahim K. Kanoo Director, Waleed Kanoo, highlighted the importance of disruptive technologies in today’s fast-evolving world, stating “The world is changing faster now than it ever has with new technology replacing monotonous everyday tasks thus helping businesses acquire global customers due to the speed and efficiency of the telecom, banking and commerce sectors. Even a start-up with limited resources can aim at technology disruption by inventing an entirely new way of getting something done. Established companies tend to focus on what they do best and pursue incremental improvements rather than revolutionary changes.”

Security 1 general manager, Ramgopal Menon also added, “Technologies are getting more connected with the seamless convergence of IOTs (Internet of Things), AIs (Artificial Intelligence), and machine languages promising a safer and more secure world to protect individuals, assets and facilities. Security 1 brings these solutions to Bahrain in affordable and user-friendly packages.”

Physical security is the protection of personnel, hardware, software, networks and data from physical actions and events that could cause serious loss or damage to an enterprise, agency or institution. This includes protection from fire, flood, natural disasters, burglary, theft, vandalism and terrorism. ELV Systems for buildings stands for Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) extra-low voltage system deployed in residential and commercial buildings for the purposes of better control and security. Usually, it comprises a variety of sub-systems like Video Intercom, CCTV, sensors & alarms.

The main panel discussions were led by Carrier, Corning systems and Avigilon Innovative Surveillance Solutions, who shed light on the evolving security industry and how technology progression is setting new standards in the industry.
