Foreign Affairs Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa Al Khalifa has expressed deep confidence that relations between Bahrain and Sri Lanka would continue to prosper and that cooperation would keep on expanding, taking diplomatic ties to higher levels.
Deep-rooted cultural, social and diplomatic relations have been steadily growing between the two countries that are also keen on working together on several regional and international issues of shared interest, the Undersecretary added.
Dr. Shaikha Rana made the statement as she attended a cultural performance by the internationally renowned Sri Lankan dance group Channa-Upuli.
The show, attended by a wide audience that included dignitaries, diplomats, members of the Sri Lankan community and music fans, was staged by the Sri Lankan embassy to Bahrain in cooperation with Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA).
The event celebrated the 72nd anniversary of the independence of Sri Lanka and the 28th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bahrain and Sri Lanka.
