Waleed AbdulAziz Al-Sabbagh as Director-General of Clearance and Customs Services at the Interior Ministry's Customs Affairs, stated that it was decided to impose final anti-dumping duties on the imports of the GCC countries of ceramic and porcelain tiles originating from or exported from China and India and included under Harmonized Commodity code 6907, explaining that the decision was based on the approval of the Ministerial Committee Decision of the Standing Committee of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council to apply the final anti-dumping duties for a period of five years, starting from June 6, 2020.

An anti-dumping duty is a protectionist tariff that a domestic government imposes on foreign imports that it believes are priced below fair market value. Dumping is a process where a company exports a product at a price lower than the price it normally charges in its own home market.

He explained that instructions were issued to collect the fees as insurance amounts in addition to taxes and other fees until the issuance of the official decisions in this regard.
