A number of local Banks in Bahrain has warned its customers via text message of fraudulent text messages and calls, calling for not to disclose their debit card information, password, or electronic password to any source.

The text message (SMS) called on clients to beware of text messages and fraudulent calls, asking them to never disclose your debit card information, PIN codes or electronic password to any source, confirming that bank will never contact you to request this information.

General Director of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security had warned several times recently about fraudulent messages requesting to update the banking information of individuals through entering one of the electronic links, as banks do not request any information or passwords via text messages.

Banks said that these fraudulent messages are intended to penetrate the password of users of online banking services.
