Over 8,141 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Friday (27 June) health officials confirmed.
The Ministry of Health detected 462 new cases of the COVID-19 in foreign workers, contacts and some from recent arrivals to the island kingdom, according to health officials.
Health officials said that 233 expatriate workers were detected with the virus in the past 24 hours, 229 others were infected from local contacts.
The Ministry of Health also confirmed that 644 patients recovered from coronavirus bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 19,781 so far.
The latest update (27 June) reveals that there are currently 78 Covid-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 42 are in a critical condition. Over 5,366 cases are stable out of a total of 5,408 active cases. The total number of discharged recovered cases totals to 19,781.
Bahrain has conducted over 5,29,242 tests. Five people died of the coronavirus in Bahrain yesterday. Among the dead were four Bahrainis – three men, aged 66, 49 and 65, as well as an 80-year-old woman – and an expat man, aged 44. Bahrain has recorded the total number of fatalities from Covid-19 to 78 in Bahrain.
