Over 7,274 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Friday (28 June) health officials confirmed.
The Ministry of Health detected 438 new cases of the COVID-19 in foreign workers, contacts and some from recent arrivals to the island kingdom, according to health officials.
Health officials said that 279 expatriate workers were detected with the virus in the past 24 hours, 150 others were infected from local contacts while 9 cases were detected in recent arrivals from abroad.
The Ministry of Health also confirmed that 736 patients recovered from coronavirus bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 20,517 so far.
The latest update (28 June) reveals that there are currently 74 Covid-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 41 are in a critical condition. Over 5,064 cases are stable out of a total of 5,105 active cases. The total number of discharged recovered cases totals to 20,517.
Bahrain has conducted over 5,29,242 tests. Five people died of the coronavirus in Bahrain yesterday taking the death toll in the country to 83.
Among the dead were four expatriate men – aged 37, 44, 48 and 58, as well as a 48-year-old Bahraini man. Bahrain has recorded the total number of fatalities from Covid-19 to 78 in Bahrain.
