Over 8,609 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Friday (29 June) health officials confirmed.

The Ministry of Health detected 534 new cases of the COVID-19 in foreign workers, contacts and some from recent arrivals to the island kingdom, according to health officials.

Health officials said that 326 expatriate workers were detected with the virus in the past 24 hours, 200 others were infected from local contacts while 8 cases were detected in recent arrivals from abroad.

The Ministry of Health also confirmed that 411 patients recovered from coronavirus bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 20,928 so far.

The latest update (29 June) reveals that there are currently 79 Covid-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 43 are in a critical condition. Over 5,184 cases are stable out of a total of 5,227 active cases. The total number of discharged recovered cases totals to 20,928.

Bahrain has conducted over 5,45,125 tests. A Bahraini woman, aged 85, died yesterday, taking the toll to 84.
