Over 9,391 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Wednesday (09 July) health officials confirmed. 

The Ministry of Health detected 610 new cases of the COVID-19 in foreign workers, contacts and some from recent arrivals to the island kingdom, according to health officials.

Health officials said that 339 expatriate workers were detected with the virus in the past 24 hours, 265 others were infected from local contacts while 6 cases were detected in recent arrivals from abroad.

The Ministry of Health also confirmed that 503 patients recovered from coronavirus bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 26,073 so far.

The latest update (09 July) reveals that there are currently 56 Covid-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 85 are in a critical condition. Over 4,704 cases are stable out of a total of 4,760 active cases. The total number of discharged recovered cases totals to 26,073. 

Bahrain has conducted over 6,30,753 tests. Bahrain has recorded 98 fatalities. In Bahrain, the recovery rate is currently at 83.85% with a 0.32% death rate. Isolation centre capacity stands at 34%, with 2,839 out of 8,357 beds occupied, and 1,814 asymptotic cases are under optional home self-isolation after meeting the set criteria.

Turning to the basic reproductive ratio for the past 2 weeks, it ranged between 1.1 and 1.4, a significant decrease compared to the period between 1 to 14 June. A ratio of 1 is necessary for Bahrain to successfully overcome all COVID-19 challenges.
