The Bahrain Post (BP) announced that its services and products will be subjected to the 5% Value Added Tax (VAT). This announcement, declared today (January 11th), was through SMS messages to its subscribers. The message, widely circulated through various social media, did not have any proof or code that BP have officially registered in the VAT system and did not show the Registration Certificate (VRC) as other governmental entities did.

The SMS stated: “As of January 11, 2019, our products and services will be subjected to the 5% Value Added Tax (VAT) according to the tax regulations of the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
