Bahrain has been witnessing a large number of blood donation camps that have been organised over the year. This has highlighted the cooperation of numerous socially responsible organisations and societies in Bahrain in their pledge to spread awareness of the importance of donating blood and help patients in this manner.
Community groups and charity organisation worked hand in hand to organize a blood donation camp in Bahrain. Bahrain Keraleeya Aamajam charity (BKS), NORKA Committee and BDK Bahrain Chapter jointly held a blood donation camp in association with King Hamad University Hospital at Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam. Committee members of the largest community organization BKS, NORKA and BDK were present at the camp and spoke regarding the event. King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH) representative emphasized that such blood donation camps do provide many benefits to patients.
As part of community charity activities, Samskrithi Bahrain is also organizing a blood donation camp on January 25th at the Salmaniya Hospital on the occasion of Indian Republic Day, with the help of Blood Bank. Samskrithi President Suresh Babu and General Secretary Pravin Nair said that more than 150 members of the community will be participating and this is the first camp that runs through various stages every year.
KMCC Bahrain, another community organisation has also launched a mobile Application for blood donor’s which is a first of its kind in the GCC. The App is called ‘Blood Book’ which is a comprehensive platform for blood donors and seekers. More than 1000 people have actively registered and those participating for camps can automatically register online, therefore, avoiding other hassles.
