Japanese Ambassador to Bahrain, Hideki Ito said that a Japanese company will carry out the second phase of Aldur Power and Water plant in cooperation of a Saudi-Bahraini consortium at a cost of about $ 1.1 billion.

 

He confirmed that the implementation of the project will begin during the current year, and is expected to be completed mid-2020.
 

The Japanese ambassador to Bahrain said the plant's production capacity is about 1500 megawatts of electricity and 50 million gallons of water per day.

 

The Japanese ambassador stressed his country's desire to contribute to major projects in Bahrain, including the implementation of the King Hamad Bridge project between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and the railway project, in addition to projects that follow BAPCO to contribute to the economic development in Bahrain.
