More than 300 workers benefitted from the free medical camp that was conducted by the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF). Last week, ICRF marked its 132nd edition by organizing a free medical camp at the MCSC camp in Askar.

Senior medical consultants from Salmaniya Medical Centre (SMC), American Mission Hospital (AMH), ASRY Clinic, Al Rayan Hospital along with paramedical staff from Bahrain Specialist Hospital (BSH), American Mission Hospital and IMC Medical Centre conducted free medical check-ups for hundreds of workers in the Company.

Managing Director of Qatar Engineering Laboratories Managing Director Babu Rajan K G sponsored this year’s medical camps for ICRF and was also present during the event.

“ICRF doing a tremendous job for the Indian community especially to the low-income category. Very much appreciate the valuable contributions to those unfortunate class” said Babu Rajan.  ICRF honoured Babu Rajan for his contribution during the program.

ICRF also honoured community worker Chandran Thikkodi, as a gratitude for his tireless efforts in helping the Indian community in Bahrain.

Apart from health awareness and safety tips, free blood sugar and blood pressure tests were also conducted for the workers.

ICRF, functioning under the aegis of the Indian Embassy, has been organizing regular medical check-up camps in Bahrain since 2002. To date, ICRF has conducted 132 such free medical checks up camps at various labour sites in Bahrain, which has benefited approximately 49,300 workers.
