The chief prosecutor, Adnan Al-Wedaei, stated that the lower criminal court had issued a sentence against a “Shisha” Café which was serving Shisa to customers outside the cafe, in violation of the ministerial decision to close commercial stores in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, by fining the cafe owner three thousand dinars and its manager 1,000 dinars, besides issuing a fine against the café as a virtual person with five thousand dinars.

In another coronavirus incident, the court fined a defendant a thousand dinars for violating home quarantine procedure.

On the other hand, the Public Prosecution began investigating reports received from the Public Health Department against fourteen people for not committing to the home quarantine because they left their homes at different times of the term of the imposed quarantine. The defendants were interrogated and released with financial guarantees until investigations are completed.
