From distributing to an astounding 10,000 flyers to providing nearly 2,000 food kits, a leading Indian community organization is spearheading numerous initiatives during the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
The Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF), working under the patronage of the Embassy of India in Bahrain, is reaching out thousands of distressed members in the community in a variety of ways.
The initiatives include distribution of antiseptic soaps, distribution of awareness flyers, distribution of ICRF Food Support Kits, publishing videos on how to protect one from Covid19, distributing and educating the use of masks in public places and providing support to mental well-being.
“We have taken steps to educate the community to ensure that they remain protected against infection. In line with this, we have also designated special teams, selected from various states of India who are in the forefront to address the need from our community” ICRF added.
Soaps and Flyers
ICRF also flagged off their Covid-19 project by distributing more than 4000 antibacterial soaps in the labour camps. Flyers and posters with Disease exposure prevention instructions were produced with the support of the Embassy.
The materials in different Indian languages were distributed across Bahrain including labour camps and labour moving locations. We have already distributed nearly 10,000 flyers. Social media platforms promoted videos in different languages on steps to prevent the spread of the virus.
Dry Food ration Kits
Till date, nearly 2000 Food Kits sufficient enough for approximately two weeks for nearly 6000 members were distributed. ICRF aims to feed unfortunate workers and their families have been affected by the prevailing situation.
Reusable face masks
With the help of the Indian Embassy, more than 10,000 reusable face masks were distributed at various locations in Bahrain. Another 10,000 reusable face masks will be distributed in the coming weeks.
“Our members also support the Community Police in making public announcements in various languages on the importance of wearing face masks and educating people to not to step outside if it is not important” stated ICRF.
