“Recruiting domestic workers will be reopened next Monday, September 14th,” this went viral after being announced by the Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).
The announcement noted that the announcement came in implementation of the decision by the Coordination Committee headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
It indicated that coordination is currently underway with the LMRA-approved domestic workers' recruitment agencies in order to ensure the preservation of the health of all and not expose them to any health risks by taking precise precautionary measures in cooperation with employment agencies.
LMRA confirmed that high awareness and commitment was highly required to limit the spread of COVID-19 warning against dealing with unlicensed agencies or using hourly domestic workers from unaccredited offices.
LMRA stressed the importance of reviewing the list of LMRA-approved domestic workers recruitment agencies which, it added, was published and updated on a weekly basis on its website www.lmra.bh. It explained that dealing with LMRA-approved agencies would enable to guarantee rights and not to avoid violations, calling on everyone to review the list before dealing with any office
