The 56th Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Day (ITEC) was celebrated across the world on Tuesday virtually. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, ITEC Day was celebrated through online mode by organizing social media events.

The Indian Embassy in Bahrain celebrated ITEC Day 2020 to further strengthen and deepen their association with the ITEC alumni from Bahrain who are the indispensable bridge of goodwill and friendship between Bahrain and India.

“I am happy to know that some of our ITEC alumni from Bahrain have shared their views and experiences about the training programme they attended in India. In the coming years, I look forward to physically meeting and interacting with members of our ITC family in Bahrain” said Indian Ambassador to Bahrain Piyush Srivastava.

“I wish all the ITEC alumni from the Kingdom of Bahrain good health and success in their personal and professional life” he added.

The ITEC programme is India’s flagship development cooperation initiative for capacity building and human resource development in partner countries, covering a wide and diverse spectrum of skills and disciplines.

Under the programme, every year over 12,000 scholarships are offered to partner countries for more than 300 short, medium and long-term training courses at the premier institutions of India.

The ITEC Programme has reached out to more than 200,000 beneficiaries in over 160 partner countries and highlights the primacy of development cooperation in India’s foreign policy.
